A man charged with attempted murder following a shooting in the eastern Bay of Plenty has been remanded in custody today.
Two men, aged 20 and 16, allegedly fired shots from a car, hitting two people in another car on Daniel Street in Kaingaroa, 50km southeast of Rotorua, on Sunday morning, police said.
Edwin Iraia, 21, was shot in the hand and Harmon MacPherson, 19, was shot in the shoulder in the incident involving two families.
One of the accused appeared in Rotorua Youth Court today facing a charge of attempted murder and various firearms charges.
He was remanded in custody until August 11.
The other man was expected to appear tomorrow.
