Bad judgement calls are made daily, in both business and politics! Even America, has a first amendment. Rarely would they generate universal mockery? NZers' object to being made a laughing stock to the entire World over trivia, such as one lingerie Ad that failed to meet some [nameless] bureaucrats approval, at an International destination. In a well ordered world, such irresponsible actions might generate immediate dismissal, for the individuals involved at least. Are we removing all concepts of bureaucratic accountability in NZ? I suggest they rethink this one, hopefully before NZs next general election!

Come on Kiwi cousins what is wrong with you lot?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Jennifers ad.Auckland Airport you should be ashamed of yourself. Get a life and enjoy a beautiful sight. Its better than looking at the dull airport environment.

This ad does not fit well with buy kiwi made campaign. At least use a recognizable kiwi chick eg. Nicky Watson or Charlotte Dawson. On the other hand, at least it will give you something to talk about while stuck on the Mangere Bridge.

I agree with the reason the airport has declined this ad but the ad itself isn't that naughty. I can say I'd buy the product without them having to blatantly sell sex by placing the word "horny" in there, though. The model is appealing but they could've been just a tad bit more creative.

Is it really that important? Its advertising and it looks great. I am with Elle I like the red bra set and would definitely buy it. Wake up people its 2007!!
Luke Mason
PC gone mad. Wish there were more of them around the place, its a work of art!
Elle
What is so racy about this ad? Is it that she is wearing red or biting a stuffed rhino? I like the ad, I would purchase that red set based on the ad. Is that not the point?

The media have taken us far enough along the road to Sodom and Gomorrah; it is high time we made a stand. Well done Auckland Airport.

Advertisers who wish to run tacky campaigns have plenty of other avenues in which they can strut their stuff. Hasta la vista Bimbo

Good job, ban this crap and tell this model to go to work instead.

Yes I agree that the aiport Authorities made the right decison because the diverse Ethnic Groups that move through there. However I love it and hope it will be displayed in Central Auckland. Oh no, the City Council is banning billboards. Where will it be?
Sally
Yes ban it. Typical Aussieish type of humour and thankfully, New Zealand men have matured past that style of juvenile humour and advertising.

Nothing wrong with the advert, however, I feel that the place is definitely wrong. Yes, it would be an awesome sight to see lingerie clad Jennifer Hawkins (Wow!) but not at the airport please. Airports are places with people of all age groups and people especially the elderly would find this kind of advertising to be offensive and in poor taste. So, I think, the Auckland airport authorities have taken a step in the right direction by not displaying the advert.

Well this smacks of the same PCness that saw the word God edited out of the Queen movie on Air NZ flights.

I was approached by an Australian organisation who wanted my business to advertise at the newly upgraded Queenstown airport. I decided completely against it on the grounds that recollecting whenever I went through airports I could not recollect ever looking at, or even noticing any advertising. Advertising in airports is ineffective and it would have been a waste of money. The worst part of travelling is the airports and most people just want to get out of them as soon as they can. Therefore I doubt that this particular piece of advertising at Auckland Airport would have even been noticed were it not for the ensuing media publicity.

I am a Kiwi who has lived in Europe for the past 10 years. The removal of this advert is quite simply ridiculous. In most European countries this wouldnt even raise an eyebrow, I lived in Austria for a year which is fairly conservative country but even they have Palmers adverts (Lingerie Company) plastered all over the place, including airports. New Zealands attitude when it comes to sexually related content is prudish and outdated. Get a grip.

Its 2007. Queen Victoria is dead. Wake up.
Chris White
Pretty good. She can't be from NZ?
David Sheppard
The primary complaint should be that its just not a very good idea. Its derivative and feeble. The creators simply need to think a little harder.
Rowan Lane
I am no prude but yes I agree the airport is not the place for raunchy ads.It is the window of Auckland and NZ in many cases and the ads should complement that.
Chris
What is wrong with this country? I could think of nothing better after a long flight back from overseas to see a awesome billboard of a lacy bra-clad Australian model clutching a stuffed rhino and saying Feeling horny? Someone please tell me what is wrong with it?
Gary
Unbelievable that a company contributing to the pollution of the World on a massive scale has concerns over an innocuous lingerie ad.
