New Zealanders Alexandra Maloney and Sam Bullock have improved to second place in the Open 29er class at the youth sailing world championships in Istanbul.
A third placing in yesterday's only race saw them improve from fourth to second overall after six races. They trail a French crew by seven points with two days of competition remaining.
Kiwis Thomas Saunders is sixth in the boys' Laser Radial, Josh Porebski and Naomi Mannering sixth in the Open Multihull and Georgia Schofield ninth in the girls' RS:X.
