A yacht has crashed into rocks at an island in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf.
The Coastguard were called to Motuihe Island just after 2pm this afternoon. One of its boats and a private boat responded.
Acting duty officer Ray Burge said Waiheke Rescue has taken the two people off the 32 foot yacht safe and well.
He said they weren't quite familiar with the area.
Mr Burge said it gets shallow quite quickly on the south eastern side of Motuihe.
