A yacht which caught fire in Auckland's Waitemata Harbour this afternoon has been towed to Westhaven Marina after the fire was contained.
Emergency services were called at 2.10pm, but the five people aboard the 32-foot yacht had managed to put the fire out before a fire crew reached them, said Auckland fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips.
The fire started in the engine room and no-one was injured.
A police maritime boat towed the yacht to Westhaven from the western side of the Harbour Bridge.
