The hull of a 17m yacht remained afloat last night anchored within the entrance to Mahurangi Harbour, near Warkworth, after a fire on board forced its crew of two to jump overboard.
Firefighters boarded the stricken yacht and quickly put the blaze out.
Coastguard Northern Region said the yacht was home to a German couple.
