After a whirlwind pre-audition tour, which also included more than 100 auditions in Masterton, X Factor NZ publicist Rose Swale has said she believes the standard of The X Factor NZ show will be "incredible".
The world-renowned show visited Masterton on January 22 as X Factor NZ searched for newtalent in the Wairarapa and Ms Swale said the auditions in the district went really well.
More than 100 people queued up outside the town hall for the auditions and she described the Masterton leg as "a real community event".
The X Factor has now completed its pre-audition tour of New Zealand, which took in 27 locations nationwide.
Speaking at the Masterton auditions, Ms Swale said they were delighted with the level of talent.
"We're enjoying going to the smaller cities and towns and so far we've been uncovering some diamonds in the rough."
Performers who are successful in the pre-auditions will go to Auckland to perform in front of a live studio audience and judges Melanie Blatt, Stan Walker, Ruby Frost and Daniel Bedingfield. The show, which will be hosted by Dominic Bowden, will go to air later this year.
