KEY POINTS:
Wrong exam papers have been sent to a North Shore student.
The papers, from the National Certificate of Educational Achievement exams, were mailed to the Westlake Girls High School pupil, but they were not hers and did not match her results.
The incident emerged as NZ Post took responsibility for defaced exam papers returned to students of Cashmere High School in Christchurch.
TV3 reported that nine students from Cashmere had now reported remarks on their papers. In a new twist one paper sent to Nicola Clark had "SHAME ELF!" written on it. That's a derogatory term some Cashmere students had called her.
NZ Post is not saying if a temporary worker it is talking to is a current or former pupil of the school.
NZ Post collates and sends out papers under contract to the NZ Qualifications Authority. NZQA has apologised to the Christchurch students.
It said it had not been advised of any papers being sent to the wrong person but urged any students this had happened to to contact the authority.
