KEY POINTS:
British writer Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, leads the line-up - via satellite link - in the Auckland Writers & Readers Festival.
Other international guests include Australian David Malouf, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Half a Yellow Sun), Monica Ali (Brick Lane), Stefan Aust, former editor-in-chief of German political weekly Der Spiegel, and a special New Yorker event with writers Hendrik Hertzberg, Judith Thurman and James Surowiecki.
The festival runs at the Aotea Centre from May 13-17.
