He's an All Black, she's a 12-year-old schoolgirl, and together they make a winning publishing team.
Hooker Keven Mealamu was back at Eden Park yesterday, but the occasion was strictly literary as he teamed with Pukekohe Intermediate School pupil Grace Michie in a reading of their newly published book.
It was Grace who penned the opening tale of Room 23 and Mysterious Miss P and Five More Fantastic Stories.
The illustrations were done by Mealamu, an old hand in the children's publishing world.
Her contribution, a fictional poem telling the story of an enigmatic relief teacher who gives misbehaving students an unexpected lesson, won selection as the best entry of almost 900 from schools in Auckland and Northland in the Barfoot & Thompson Young Authors' Challenge.
