Police divers have found the wreckage of the sunken boat Governor but poor weather means it cannot be more thoroughly investigated until tomorrow.
The boat's two missing crewmen are thought to have drowned after the vessel got into trouble near Yates Point off the Fiordland coast on September 15.
Three members of the police dive squad used sonar equipment and a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to locate the wreckage today.
They will return at first light tomorrow.
"The investigation will use the ROV to attempt to get some photographic images from the wreckage. The weather is expected to be more favourable tomorrow," a police spokeswoman said.
