KEY POINTS:
American company Brammo Motorsports have lifted the covers on the world's first production zero-emissions battery-powered motorcycle.
The Enertia, which plugs for three hours for a full charge, has a range of over 70kms, more than the American average daily commute of just 45kms.
A carbon-fibre chassis produces an ultra-strong, light weight platform integrating six lithium phosphate batteries.
"We believe consumers are eager to adopt vehicles that have a fraction of the carbon footprint of a today's cars," said Craig Bramscher, Brammo CEO.
Not surprisingly, the Enertia is no rocket ship, but it does look good and will wind up to around 80km/h.
