Marine found guilty of conspiracy in Iraq murder
A military jury found a Marine guilty of larceny, housebreaking and conspiracy in the 2006 murder and kidnapping of an Iraqi grandfather.
Cpl Marshall Magincalda was found guilty of the offences, which occurred when Marines kidnapped the neighbour of a man they were seeking, killed him and then planted a stolen AK-47 and shovel nearby to suggest he was an insurgent killed in a fight.
Magincalda was acquitted of murder, kidnapping and making a false official statement.

Bush, Democrats seek deal on more spy power bill
Democratic lawmakers said they were moving closer to a deal with President George W Bush to expand the government's powers to eavesdrop on telephone calls and email from abroad.
US Congress is set to leave for an August recess this weekend and both sides said action was needed to change the Bush administration's controversial domestic spying programme.

Jailed Bollywood star to be paid $1 a day
Indian actor Sanjay Dutt, who has swapped the glamour of the silver screen for the harsh reality of prison, will soon have to choose between cooking, carpentry, farming or weaving for just a dollar a day.
Dutt was jailed for six years' "rigorous imprisonment " for acquiring guns from gangsters linked to India's worst bombings in Mumbai in 1993.
