Some hot talent is being showcased at this Rugby World Cup, and not necessarily on the field.

A number of wives and girlfriends of international players, collectively known as Wags, have made the trip to support their men and in so doing have brought glamour to the tournament.

Among them is actress Susie Amy - of TV show Footballers' Wives fame - who is the better half of Irish player Rob Kearney.

Amy, like many of the Wags, has been keeping her fans up to date about her travels on social networking site Twitter.

Arriving in Christchurch on Saturday, she'd been looking forward to Italy's game against Ireland in Dunedin on Sunday - which the Irish won.

"So grateful for ear plugs, there were some very loud Irish songs being sung outside the hotel through the night!"

Her stopover in Australia seemed to influence her taste in icecream: "I hope they do the Australian Gaytime icecreams in New Zealand. I'll be trawling Dunedin today until I find one," she wrote.

However, someone will have to give her a lesson on Kiwi treasures the Aussies like to claim as their own. Earlier, she posted: "While watching the Australian version of Beauty and the Geek I have learned pavlova is from Australia - the beauties had no idea either."

Amy will be in Wellington this weekend to see Ireland take on Wales in the tournament's first quarter-final match.

Zara Phillips, who married English captain Mike Tindall just over two months ago, has come and gone but may be back if England continues to the top.

Phillips made an early arrival after CCTV footage from a Queenstown bar showed Tindall getting a little too friendly with a female patron.

The Queen's granddaughter wowed guests at an Auckland charity event and fashion show when she arrived in a figure-hugging black dress with her hair slicked back.

A male model told media outside that she looked "hot" and had a "gym body".

Laetitia Guidicelli, partner of Scotland first five-eighths Dan Parks, said she was looking forward to partying in Auckland.

"Wellington was a beautiful place," she tweeted.

"Auckland seems to be a big party place ... fun times still to come with the girls!"

Katy Johnson, girlfriend of Scottish player Max Evans, loved her time in New Zealand.

She wrote about her visits to Te Papa - to "soak up some Maori culture and history" - and the SkyCity Casino, and of doing the SkyJump.

After Scotland's loss to England at the weekend, she said it was a sad way to leave the country.

Others on the Wags list include former Miss France Alexandra Rosenfeld, wife of Italian player Sergio Parisse, television presenter Alex Jones, partner of Welshman Lee Byrne, and triple Olympic swimming gold medallist Stephanie Rice, girlfriend of Wallaby first five-eighths Quade Cooper.

There is also singer-model Lucie Jones, girlfriend of Welsh player Leigh Halfpenny, who was clearly delighted when Wales beat Namibia 81-7 last Monday. She Tweeted: "Haha. Namibia I almost feel sorry for you, you're KNACKERED!"
