KEY POINTS:
More than two million tickets have already been sold for the Rugby World Cup being hosted by France from September 7 to October 20, organisers say.
"It will be the largest attendance by spectators since the creation of this competition [in 1987]," said French Rugby Federation president Bernard Lapasset, head of the organising committee.
The objective of stadiums being at least 85 per cent full was near to being achieved.
About 2.4 million tickets are available for sale for the competition.
