A worker was trapped by his legs when a load came off a truck at Christchurch City Council's Bromley wastewater treatment plant.
A St John ambulance spokesman said the man was taken to Christchurch Hospital with minor injuries after the accident yesterday.
A city council spokeswoman said an investigation was under way and the council was co-operating with the Department of Labour.
