A Wellington company worker on his way to bank $2000 cash today was robbed by a knife-wielding man.
Wellington CIB Detective Sergeant Warwick McKee said the employee walked out of his work, on his way to the bank, and was attacked and robbed by a man with a knife.
The robbery happened at 12.15pm on Christeson Lane between Manners Mall and Dixon Street in Wellington city.
The offender was described as Polynesian, 18 to 24 years-old, of solid build, with short black hair and 1.52m tall, said Mr McKee.
He was wearing a grey hooded jacket and dark jeans.
Mr McKee said there were many office buildings surrounding Christeson Lane and police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident.
