KEY POINTS:
A railway worker was killed while working at Ohinewai, north of Huntly after he was knocked under a moving train's wheels.
The 25-year-old Hamilton man was working on adjacent tracks aboard a work train at 11am when a northbound freight train ran into the boom of a gantry, which swung around and hit him.
Huntly police had not named the man last night as his next of kin were still being notified.
