A construction worker received minor burns when a fire broke out at the building site of Tauranga's new art gallery.
Tauranga chief fire officer Ron Devlin said the fire burned for 20 minutes before being put out by about 16 firefighters in four appliances.
"The fire was started by workmen who were cutting some steel, and heat from the steel set fire to the building paper, and got into the insulation and got out of hand," Mr Devlin said.
The gallery is being built on Willow Street.
