KEY POINTS:
A worker was taken to hospital with moderate injuries after falling from a rail wagon in Lyttelton near Christchurch this morning.
A spokeswoman for the Lyttelton Port said the worker, an independent contractor, was involved in log operations when he fell.
"The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at present," she said.
