The injured person was working on a restaurant in Albany when a gas oven exploded. Initial reports were that the injuries were serious.
Meanwhile on the Auckland City-side of the Harbour Bridge, parts of New Lynn were evacuated when a large gas pipe ruptured.
Part of Great North Road was closed while the pipe was repaired.
