A man is dead after apparently being trapped under a container in South Auckland.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to on Aintree Ave, in Mangere, at 7.30am.
A man was critically injured and later died at the scene.
Police are in the process of notifying the man's family.
WorkSafe NZ has been notified of the death.
"We have inspectors on site and are making initial inquiries. We don't have any further information at this stage," a WorkSafe NZ spokesman said.
The incident is believed to have taken place at freight business TopTranz.
When contacted by the Herald, company owner and director Marcus de Kort declined to comment.
