A worker was flown to hospital after being crushed by a bull on a farm near Tokoroa tonight.
The 31-year-old man suffered crush injuries to his lower back and abdomen after an "altercation'' with the bull and managed to move a short distance before collapsing and alerting other workers to call for help, BayTrust Rescue Helicopter pilot Barry Vincent said.
The Rotorua-based helicopter responded at 6pm to find the man conscious but "pretty uncomfortable'', he said.
St John paramedics spent some time stabilising the man before he was airlifted through to Rotorua Hospital in a stable condition.
