Hot desk options at flexible workplaces like BizDojo in Takapuna and Ponsonby have become attractive options these school holidays for work-from-home parents.
Pierre Ferrandon, IWG New Zealand Country Manager, which owns BizDojo, said the school holidays saw a spike in the number of people keen to book a space short-term to escape distractions.
"New Zealand is made of small and medium enterprises who suddenly have their home office over-run by children during the school holidays," he said.
"There are a number of options where you can book a desk by the day or week that is close to home but away from the distractions."
Ferrandon said the flexible working options were a good trial for entreprenuers keen to try the working style that was growing globally.
At BizDojo hot desking options could be booked by the day from $40 or the week, with wi-fi, printers, barista coffee, showers and table tennis available.
