Neighbours used to wonder whether the high rollers next door were Lotto winners or drug dealers - now they have a conclusive answer.
The Otitori Bay Rd property in West Auckland's French Bay was home to a collection of cars and motorbikes, including a black 2008 Mustang and seven American "Chopper" motorbikes.
The house was busted by the armed offenders squad on Friday, in an operation likened to a "ninja-show" by a resident.
Investigations unveiled a P-lab within the house, understood to be inhabited by a group of Head Hunters members.
One occupant has been arrested for unlawfully possessing a firearm, and police say further charges are pending.
A man who lives on the street says the large, landscaped property was bought a year ago for almost $1 million.
Following the sale, a friendly self-employed British man moved out, replaced by a group of "tattooed trouble-makers".
He said his family had always wondered if the new residents were Lotto winners or drug dealers and got their answer when police swooped.
"We knew it was a P lab because [police] were completely covered in white suits with breathing filters."
The man said the occupants used to start up their bikes at 2am: "There was a lot of noise at night, with people and cars going in and out."
He hoped they would be put in jail so his "usually quiet" street can return to normal.
Head Hunters have an established presence in West Auckland, with a headquarters in Henderson. Another patched member, Peter Cleven, had previously lived in a palatial house nearby.
