Women's Minister Louise Upston has her leg in a cast, after a mishap during a netball tournament involving Australian and New Zealand MPs in Sydney.
Although the "Parly Ferns", New Zealand's parliamentary netball team, played their way to victory over two teams of Australian MPs yesterday, Ms Upston, the co-captain, missed most of the action after injuring herself in the warm-up.
The 44-year-old was taken to hospital with a suspected torn Achilles tendon, and about 10pm tweeted: "Got a cast on now and good to go."
Her press secretary said the exact nature of her injury had not been confirmed, but she was in a lot of pain.
The team, which also included Labour's Louisa Wall - the co-captain and a former Silver Fern - as well as MPs Amy Adams, Nanaia Mahuta, Poto Williams, Sue Moroney, Meka Whaitiri and Jo Hayes, played their way to a 14-10 victory over the Australian Federal Government in the final
