A domestic dispute between two woman has resulted in them both being admitted to Tauranga Hospital.
Police were called to the Haukore St home in suburban Hairini, at 10am yesterday and initially treated the case as a stabbing.
A St John spokeswoman told the Bay of Plenty Times a 65-year-old woman was treated for moderate injuries after she was assaulted around the head. Another injured woman took herself to hospital.
Greerton police Senior Sergeant Lew Warner said there appeared to have been a dispute between the two women, where one of them was cut by a knife.
The incident happened outside the home of one of the women.
Police were still trying to establish what happened.
