Police have released CCTV footage of two women being held up at gunpoint in an Auckland liquor shop over the weekend.
Detective Sergeant Craig McCormack said a man went into the Wairau Liquor King with a sawn off shotgun and demanded money on Sunday.
He said the shop assistants were left shocked by the incident which lasted about two minutes.
"Although he was casual and polite, they are obviously quite shocked," Mr McCormack said.
He said the man had someone waiting for him outside in a stolen black Subaru and made off with hundreds of dollars.
Mr McCormack said the robbery happened at about 5pm, four hours after the Subaru station wagon was stolen from Pak N Save in Royal Oak.
He said the Subaru had the license plate number BGS 604 and police were still looking for it.
Mr McCormack said another man was driving the Subaru as they left the Wairau Liquor Shop on Auckland's North Shore.
He said anyone with information on the robbery or the Subaru should call him on (09) 477 5034.
Mr McCormack said police would also like to speak to the driver of a white four wheel drive, the driver of a blue Rav Four and anyone else who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the area.
