Thirteen Women's Institutes within the Wairarapa Federation put their home-making skills to the test in the annual Home Industries Show at the Masterton Club on Friday.
Wairarapa Federation president Suzanne Bannister, of Wainuioru Women's Institute, said the show was always an amazing and competitive experience that brought people together.
"It'sjust amazing," she said.
"The whole fact that we're bringing women together from Mount Bruce right down to Martinborough is amazing."
The institutes compete against each other in various categories including cut flowers, decorative, cooking, preserves, handcraft, and a display on a card table which this year had a theme of "Tribute to Anzac".
"And then there's a lot of adding up of the points and we actually have cups for each section and it's all very competitive," Mrs Bannister said.
Women's Institute member and handcraft officer Janice Osborne said she was amazed at what had been made by all of the women this year and the Home Industries Show had been "done in Wairarapa for as long as I can remember".
