Police in Christchurch are looking for two men who sexually attacked a woman walking home from university.
The pair, described as part Maori in their early 20s and wearing beanies, assaulted the 18-year-old student as she walked along a street in suburban Riccarton about 11.30pm on Thursday night.
Detective Constable Kelvin Holden, of Christchurch police, said the men approached the woman, spoke some "inappropriate words" and attacked her sexually.
Her screams frightened the pair off.
Mr Holden said he believed the attackers were "definitely" local residents. The neighbourhood housed a mixed population of students and "itinerant people".
