A woman who witnessed a motorist being killed in a suspected road rage incident in Lower Hutt can't forget his look of bewilderment as he realised he had been stabbed.
Father-of-two Aaron Anthony Hadfield, from Stokes Valley, died on Thursday night.
Two men, aged 20 and 22, handed themselves into police and have been charged with assault. Police said further charges were pending.
Jill Rua watched from the window of her George St house. "I saw the car stopped in the middle of the street and I heard a lot of swearing. Then I thought they had a fight - that the guy was punching him. I didn't realise he was stabbing him."
The driver got out, clutching his chest. "He looked like he was really bewildered, like he couldn't believe he'd been stabbed, I can't forget it.
