A woman has been winched off Rangitoto Island by helicopter after a fall.
The 19-year-old woman fell and suffered a leg injury on the island in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf yesterday afternoon, the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust said.
The rescue chopper was called to Rangitoto around 12.50pm, and a paramedic was winched down to treat the woman at the scene.
Both the patient and the paramedic were then winched off the rocky volcanic island, which is popular with walkers.
The woman was airlifted to Auckland City Hospital in a minor condition, the chopper trust said.
