Counties Manukau police have captured a 19-year-old woman who was on the run after cutting off her ankle bracelet - and had started taunting police on social media.
A police spokeswoman confirmed to the Herald this morning Dayna Paparoa has been arrested and will face a raft of charges, including going back before the courts to face two charges of breaching home detention, a charge of burglary and possibly more to come pending further interviews and investigation.
"She now faces an additional charge of burglary and further charges are likely. She's just being processed and that's all we can say at the moment," a police spokeswoman told the Herald.
In a photo posted by Counties Manukau police yesterday Paparoa had considerably shorter hair than a previous police mugshot and police said she was also using the name Samuel Paruru to avoid detection.
On March 10, Police wrote on Facebook that they were looking for Paparoa. But it was unlikely they expected what happened next - a comment from Paparoa, stating: 'You not doing your jobs properly my bros hahahah'.
