The woman who died after trying to do a U-turn on a Bay of Plenty road yesterday has been named.
Sing Yieng Pau, 36, from Te Puke, known locally as Lisa Yieng died when a logging truck hit her vehicle as she was doing a U-turn after pulling over to let some cars pass.
Western Bay road policing sergeant Wayne Hunter said the woman, 36, didn't see a logging truck on the road before she pulled out into its path.
"The vehicles collided and the truck basically t-boned her. The truck had no way of stopping in time."
Mrs Yieng died on the way to hospital.
