Woman wakes to find intruder in her bedroom

An Otaki Beach woman woke about 3am today to find an intruder standing in her bedroom.

When challenged the man ran out of the southern Manawatu house .

Police said it seemed the intruder got in through the back door and left the same way.

He was described as a dark skinned male, possibly aged in his late teens or early 20s, 165cm to 170cm tall and of slight to medium build.

He had a distinctive yellow-orange hair colour which looked like dark hair treated with peroxide. It was bushy but not long.

Levin police want to hear from anyone with information.
