A 54-year-old woman is in hospital with severe chest injuries after being trampled by her horse in Waikato this morning.
Westpac Rescue helicopter responded to a call at 9am that a woman had been injured at a property east of Te Kauwhata in Waikato, spokesman Graeme Harvey said.
It appeared she had fallen while riding her horse and was trampled when she hit the ground, he said.
The woman was conscious when the helicopter arrived.
"She sustained serious chest injuries. The paramedics that were on board were concerned with breathing and chest trauma."
