Woman to face 63 fraud charges

A Wellington woman facing 63 fraud charges totalling more than $2 million will appear in Wellington District Court this afternoon.

The 53-year-old Strathmore woman was charged with obtaining a document for pecuniary advantage, after allegedly using a computer programme to steal $2,000,255.90 between December 2003 and September 2008.

According to court documents, the woman took sums of money on a monthly basis, with the amounts between $2996.56 and $146,995.68.
