A Rotorua woman has suffered suspected spinal injuries after falling from a mountain bike.
The Rotorua-based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was called at 12pm today to help search for a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) activated in the area of Pakihi Hut, 106km east of Rotorua, in rugged bush.
The beacon was set off after a 35-year-old woman was found with suspected spinal injuries after a fall from a mountain bike.
The woman was airlifted to Whakatane Hospital for medical treatment.
