A woman suffered serious head injuries in a collision between a car and a truck today on State Highway 1.
The crash happened about 11:30am today at Karapiro, Waikato.
The woman was trapped in the car she had been driving before emergency services could free her.
She was treated at the scene by St John ambulance staff for serious injuries to her head and then flown to Waikato Hospital by the Waikato Westpac Rescue helicopter for further treatment.
Other people were reportedly injured in the incident and the road was blocked for some time to allow emergency services to access the scene.
