Woman steals cop car, crashes it, gets arrested

A woman has been arrested after a police patrol car was stolen and crashed in West Auckland.

Two officers were arresting an aggressive and violent person just before 5pm when an associate of the offender took off with their vehicle.

Police say she drove it for about a kilometre before crashing into another vehicle.

Nobody was injured and there was minor damage to both vehicles.

A West Auckland woman will be appearing in the Waitakere District Court in relation to the incident.
