A woman is in a stable condition after the car she was in tumbled 70m down a windy stretch of Coromandel road.
The woman was a passenger in the Toyota Hilux that was travelling along Manaia Rd in Te Kouma towards Coromandel Town at 9.30pm on Saturday when it smashed
through the barrier and fell 70m, landing on its wheels in a paddock.
An elderly couple and a young child were flown by Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Waikato Hospital.
The woman suffered serious injuries and the man and child had moderate injuries.
A Waikato Hospital spokesman said today that only one of the occupants - a woman - remained in hospital.
