KEY POINTS:
A woman who suffered serious injuries when she fell more than 20 metres in a rock climbing accident yesterday is now in a stable condition.
The Taupo-based Lion Foundation rescue helicopter was called to the scene near Wharepapa South, 48km southeast of Te Awamutu.
Helicopter spokesman Dan Harcourt said the 26-year-old woman had been climbing with friends when she fell.
A Waikato Hospital spokeswoman said the woman suffered pelvic injuries, but was in a stable condition and would probably be discharged today.
