A 32-year-old woman is in intensive care after being stabbed multiple times with a knife in Hastings this morning, police say.
Police were called to an address in Maddison Street just before 11am where they found the woman who had suffered numerous stab wounds to her upper body.
She was now in a stable condition in the Hastings Hospital intensive care unit, detective Martin James said.
Police also found a knife at the address.
A 48-year-old woman has been charged with assault and will appear in Hastings District Court on Tuesday.
