A woman has been sexually assaulted in a Wellington suburb last night.
The woman was walking north on Duncan St, near the overbridge to Tawa Railway Station around 7.25pm, when she was grabbed from behind by a man, who then indecently assaulted her, police said.
When she tried to fight him off, he ran away on Duncan St towards Tawa College, police said.
The man was described as around 1.7m [5'7"] tall, and of medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a pair of dark green camouflage knee-length shorts.
Police were "determined to find the person responsible", Detective Sergeant Haley Ryan of the Wellington Crime Squad said.
