A woman has been accused of getting a young girl drunk and stoned before sexually violating her.
Raelyn Daryl Hayman, a 44-year-old housewife from Stratford, has denied two charges of abusing a 13-year-old girl at Putaruru, south Waikato, in April 2003.
She pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual violation and indecent assault.
Rotorua District Court heard yesterday that the teenage girl was staying at Hayman's house for the weekend when she was sexually violated.
The victim shared a cannabis cigarette with Hayman and another teenager before the three of them headed into Putaruru.
When they returned to the house, they drank bottles of pre-mix vodka and some whisky. They also shared more cannabis.
Crown lawyer Amanda Gordon said it was the first time the teenage girl had smoked drugs and drunk so much alcohol.
She felt dizzy and disoriented and vomited about three times before Hayman and the other teenager put her in a double bed.
While on the bed, she felt hot so removed her top, leaving only a bikini top on, Ms Gordon said.
At different stages during the night Hayman and the other teenager went into the room to see if the girl was all right. The teenager stopped coming into the room but Hayman returned and sexually assaulted her, the court was told.
Although intoxicated, the girl tried to stop Hayman by letting out angry groans and rolling away, Ms Gordon said.
Police spoke to Hayman six months later and carried out a search of her house.
Ms Gordon said the Crown would be calling six witnesses.
In a brief address to the jury, Hayman's lawyer Patrick Mooney said that while Hayman admitted the group drank alcohol and smoked cannabis, the defence case was that the sexual assault did not happen.
The trial, before Judge Phillip Cooper, is expected to end today.
