A woman was scalped and her chest crushed after being dragged into an industrial lathe at a Timaru roofing firm yesterday.
The 44-year-old woman was last night reported to be in a stable condition in Timaru Hospital.
The woman was dragged into the lathe at Canterbury Longrun Roofing in suburban Washdyke around 10.30am, the Timaru Herald reported.
Department of Labour's West Coast health and safety manager Margaret Radford said the woman's head was scalped and she received crush injuries to her chest.
