A woman was robbed in south Dunedin today after getting cash from an A™.
Around 12.30pm she stopped at a machine outside the ANZ Bank on the corner of King and Edward Street.
A few minutes later she was accosted while walking down an alley between Fox and Glasgow Streets, police said.
The woman told police the male robber had run up from behind, pushing her to the ground before grabbing her cash and running off towards Hillside Road.
He was described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, about 180cm tall and of medium to slim build.
He was wearing a grey hoodie with a black top over it and light coloured trousers.
"While we have talked with one witness we are keen to talk with anyone else who may have seen a man fitting this description, possibly running in the area," Senior Sergeant Phil McDouall said.
Dunedin police were also searching for a bank robber who stole from the Westpac Gardens branch on North Road yesterday.
He entered at 1.45pm, handed a plastic bag to the female teller and demanded cash, Detective Sergeant Chris Henderson told the Otago Daily Times.
The robber was described as Caucasian, 160cm-170cm tall, and of a thin to medium build.
He was wearing dark glasses, a jacket and a distinctive green beanie with a light coloured band.
