A 20-year-old woman has been rescued from Mt Ngauruhoe after injuring her knee near the summit.
The Taupo-based Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was called to the mountain this afternoon.
Two RARO alpine rescue volunteers were dropped on the summit ridge due to passing cloud, and walked down a few hundred feet to her location.
When the weather allowed the woman was hover loaded back into the helicopter and flown to Rotorua Hospital.
