KEY POINTS:
A 34-year-old woman was granted a registrar's remand on charges relating to the serious bashing of a man on a Christchurch street a week ago.
Kris Irene Henery was granted bail to reappear in the Christchurch District Court on November 5, on charges of being a party to causing the victim grievous bodily harm with reckless disregard for safety, and suppressing evidence to enable a man to avoid arrest.
She also faces charges of possession of cannabis and a pipe for smoking it.
The remand granted by a registrar meant she did not need to appear in court.
The alleged victim, a 37-year-old man, remains in Christchurch Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head injuries after the attack on the corner of Ferry Rd and Olliviers Rd on October 21.
The police have charged three people. A 36-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman charged with wounding with intent to injure are due to appear in court on November 9, after remands last week. They are also on bail.
Police allege the victim became involved in an argument with a man and woman which resulted in him being punched to the ground and beaten while he lay unconscious on the footpath.
Police are still seeking witnesses to the incident and would like to contact a South African woman doctor who was treating the injured man when police arrived.
