A woman badly burned in a Christchurch house fire remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The woman, in her late 30s, was flown to Auckland and is now in Middlemore Hospital's intensive care unit after Tuesday afternoon's blaze.
Police Detective Sergeant Dave Parker said two people in the property were taken to Christchurch Hospital initially and another woman in her 20s had since been discharged.
Police have spoken to other occupants and neighbours of the burned property in Linwood as they investigate what happened.
"Indications are that the fire was contained within one room in the property," Mr Parker said.
